Who they are

Backed by Google's AI fund and acquired by Diligent, Vault helps organisations hear about misconduct before it becomes a crisis.

Harassment, fraud and discrimination at work usually go unreported, because the people who see them are afraid of what speaking up will cost them. Vault gives every employee a private, secure way to report what they have seen, and gives compliance teams the tools to act on it. Its customers include Airbnb, Epic Games, Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, Upwork, eToro, OVO Energy and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Would recommend Contic 100%, always. If I could recommend Contic more, I would.

Nothing you can do to really improve. Fantastic with communication and updates, delivering fast on features and resolving production issues as they arise.

Alex with Forest Admin and Emily with Tags have both been delivered in a shorter timeframe than expected. Got to give the credit where it's due.

Brief

Build a product people trust with the hardest conversation of their working life

Vault needed an engineering team that could move as fast as a funded start-up while meeting the security standards of the world's largest employers. Every report had to stay private, every enterprise customer would test that promise before signing, and the product had to feel calm and simple to someone reporting something difficult.

Solution

We became Vault's engineering team, from the reporting app to the security underneath.

We built and ran the reporting app on iOS, Android and the web, where an employee can report anonymously and still answer follow-up questions, and the case manager where compliance teams triage, investigate and close reports. Analytics show patterns across a whole organisation, not just single cases. Underneath, reports are encrypted on the person's own phone with keys held by them and their employer, so even Vault cannot read them. We took the platform through SOC 2 and ISO 27001, the certifications enterprise buyers ask for, and built rules that anonymise closed cases so sensitive records are not kept longer than they should be.

Outcome

Through a Google-backed Series A to acquisition by Diligent, and still building.

Employees at some of the world's best-known companies now have a safe way to be heard, and their employers find out about problems while they can still fix them. Vault raised its Series A, led by Google's AI fund, Gradient Ventures, and in May 2025 was acquired by Diligent, the governance platform used by more than a million people. Diligent kept us on: we are now moving its Steele Conflict of Interest product onto the platform and building AI into its compliance products.
