Who they are
Ultra Goldfield Logistics Limited (UGLL) is an emerging player in the logistics industry who identified a potential gap in the last-mile delivery space. As last-mile deliveries become increasingly critical in e-commerce and local logistics, UGLL saw an opportunity to streamline and optimise this process for both customers and drivers. Their mission is to provide a more efficient, user-friendly solution for parcel deliveries, catering to both individuals looking to ship items and drivers who are already on the road.
Brief
UGLL identified a key opportunity to disrupt the last-mile delivery market, but needed expert guidance to validate the idea and bring it to market. Firstly, they needed to understand the competitive landscape and identify the user groups their solution would target. They then needed help bringing this vision to life with a user-friendly, scalable product that employed smart algorithms to match drivers with the most relevant packages, streamlining the process and reducing manual effort for the drivers.
Solution
After validating the product's potential and refining its market positioning through a competitor analysis and review, we collaborated with UGLL to build a strong brand identity, including logo design and establishing a cohesive brand presence. From there, we designed and developed two primary interfaces: a customer portal for users to request deliveries and a driver app for route management and package acceptance. To optimise routes, we implemented spatial and geospatial proximity filtering algorithms to display the most relevant packages to drivers. We also built data collection capabilities straight into the system, for future machine learning enhancements to further improve route efficiency.
Outcome
We enabled UGLL to seamlessly connect customers with drivers for last-mile deliveries. The platform delivered a streamlined user experience, allowing customers to easily request parcel deliveries, while drivers were presented with relevant, route-optimised packages to pick up. Its built-in data collection capabilities laid the foundation for future AI-driven route optimisation, ensuring scalability and long-term operational efficiency. By reducing the need for manual intervention, the smart algorithms significantly boosted driver productivity and shortened delivery times.
