Photo51

Your DNA, read once and protected for life.

Photo51 reads your DNA and blood to show how you’re ageing. Then it keeps that data safe for the long haul, and turns it into advice that fits your life.

Why it mattered

Your DNA is the most personal data there is.

You can change a leaked password, but not your genes. In 2023, hackers took data on nearly seven million 23andMe customers. The company later went bankrupt and its genetic database was sold.

For customersKept safe for lifeYour DNA says something about you and your family. Once it leaks, nobody can take it back.
For customersMore than a numberMost tests stop at a result. Photo51 turns it into advice you can act on, and shows whether it’s working.

One journey

Tap the box, and the rest takes care of itself.

We put a chip in the box itself. Customers tap their phone on it and the kit’s registered, with no codes to type. From the shop to the lab to the clinician, every hand-off updates one record.

Encrypted twice

Split in two, then locked again.

Every record is split in two and kept in separate places. The only link is a code that means nothing on its own. Each half is then locked again, with a key that belongs to that customer or their clinician.

Clinician first

Nobody sees a result a clinician hasn’t checked.

Every report waits in a review portal we built for Photo51’s clinicians. Each clinician opens it with their own key, and every review is logged. Only once they approve it does it reach the app.

In the app

Seven ageing clocks, explained in one app.

Customers see their biological age, how fast they’re ageing and how each organ compares. We built the iOS and Android apps to make dense science feel simple.

Advice that fits

Advice that works for you, and keeps working.

Recommendations draw on each customer’s DNA, their blood results and their own answers about how they live. Every new test shows whether it’s working, and the advice moves with them.

Security

Built to hold health data for decades.

Keys in a hardware vaultThe master keys live in dedicated security hardware, and never leave it.
Every access loggedWho opened which record, and when, is recorded every time.
Keys rotatedKeys change on a schedule, without taking anything offline.
Delete means deletedDestroy a customer’s key and their data can never be read again.

For the long haul

One test, then a lifetime of insight.

Your DNA never changes, but what science can read from it does. Photo51 can bring each new insight to customers it already has, with no new test.
